This handcrafted linocut print celebrates the Celtic horse goddesses—Rhiannon, Macha, Epona, and Étaín - creaturely heroines born from an entwinement of the feminine and the horse: its wild grace, instinctual knowing, strength, and freedom. Each goddess carries with her an ancient story that demonstrates how true strength is the art of holding paradox with courage and clarity. Rhiannon maintains her sovereignty even when falsely accused; Macha carries the womb into the battlefield; Epona moves along the threshold of life and death; and Étaín travels through countless rebirths, riding the winds of her own becoming. Each goddess shows that wisdom lies not in escaping contradiction, but in meeting it fully—riding the tension between competing forces with a steady heart. MATERIALS: It is printed with Caligo Safewash (non-toxic) Relief Ink on Strathmore Paper - an archival printmaking paper local to Massachusetts. Because the colors are hand-mixed please expect variations - each is one of a kind! PACKAGING: This print will be rolled in Kraft paper, packed in a recycled clear bag and shipped in a recycled cylindrical tube. It is gift-ready as it is! A one-page insert including a description of the folktale is included with the print.
