Crane Woman is a Japanese folktale about a wounded weaver who stitches together beautiful fabric from her own feathers. However, she does so in the privacy of her own creative space, shielded from the watchful eyes of others. A beautiful folktale reminding us that the soul’s inner labor can turn pain into art, and that creation’s quiet magic must be protected and honored, or the spell may break before the work can be born.
