Crane Wife 9" x 12"

$55.00

This handcrafted linocut print is inspired by The Crane Wife, a beloved Japanese folktale of a wounded crane who becomes a woman and weaves exquisite cloth from her own feathers. The story celebrates the quiet power of creativity, the sacred labor of the soul, and the magic that emerges when one honors their inner life in privacy and care. In this mythic tale, the Crane Woman’s art transforms pain into beauty, reminding us that the deepest acts of creation often happen unseen, shielded from the eyes of others. Every feather, stitch, and pattern in this rustic, hand-carved print evokes the sacred, regenerative energy of birds, the transformative power of folklore, and the feminine archetype of the nurturer, weaver, and healer.

SIZE: Paper size 11" x 14"; Print size 8" x 10"

COLOR OPTIONS: It is printed with Caligo Safewash (non-toxic) Relief Ink in bero-ai (traditional Japanese Prussian blue) and Feather-Ash. The colors are handmixed so please expect slight variations.
